A new protocol MEC (MANet-Erasure codes) is proposed in this paper. By utilizing the advantages of erasure codes, MEC can highly increase scalability in both the size and diameter of the ad-hoc network. Performance comparisons of MEC with AOMDV and AODV using ns-2 simulations show that MEC is able to achieve a remarkable improvement in the robust and efficiency of ad-hoc network.
