This edition of correspondence contains four letters written by Professor Myška sent to Professor Kutnar, as well as four letters written by Professor Kutnar in response from the years 1971–1981. The letters attest to the difficult positions of people working in the humanities after the defeat of the Prague Spring and the onset of normalisation. At the start of this process, the then Associate Prof. Myška was removed from the Pedagogical Faculty and due to his unemployment, he was forced to make his living by cooperating in research tasks, while Associate Prof. Kutnar was similarly forced into retirement. However, he expressed his faith in the „restoration of values, in the restoration of societal relationships, in which a structured order would once again assume the foremost position“, which he unfortunately did not live to see.
