During the process of filling, storing and discharge, silo bins are subjected not only to bulk solid pressure but also to various imposed actions such as thermal fields or wind actions. To analyse the combined effect of such actions, it is desirable to assume an interaction between silo bin structure and bulk solid. Such an assumption has been used in the structural analysis of a cylindrical silo wall in a numerical approach. The experimental investigation on the silo model to verify some effects of the interaction were presented and discussed for the cylindrical silo bin subjected to the bulk solid pressure and imposed thermal actions.
