10th International Conference on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling (LFNM 2010). 2nd IEEE International Workshop on THz Radiation: Basic Research and Applications (TERA 2010)
We study de nonlinear optical properties of three ionic liquids of family [BMIM]. The ionic liquids are 1-buthyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, 1-buthyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate, and 1-buthyl-3-methylimidazolium Bis((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)imide. We calculate the static molecular polarizability (α) and hyperpolarizability (β,γ) using PM3 model and determinate experimentally the...
Structural parameters and physical properties are tabulated for >100 presently known simple and binary acentric chloride crystals. Distribution of the crystals over point symmetry groups has been defined in comparison with that of fluorides. A rosette of ellipses of acentricity has been outlined on the plane of the shortest chemical bond lengths metal-chlorine in the crystal lattice. A combination...
We study de nonlinear optical properties of organic materials. Multiple rings appear as a CW Ar laser passes through a nonlinear organic liquid. The rings formation is due to spatial self-phase modulation and is observed with 50 mW of continuous wave of Ar laser. We show the dependence between power and rings formed. As a first approximation to value the nonlinear refractive index we use the number...
The behaviour of a scalar optical beam at the boundary between two dissimilar nonlinear media is of fundamental interest in photonics. Here, we report the first systematic generalization of our Kerr analyses to a wider class of power-law materials. Universal refraction laws will be given, and theory-simulation agreement demonstrated.
Spontaneous emission of a quantum dot placed in a 1D photonic band gap structure is analytically studied. Part of energy which remains nonradiated is obtained. It is shown that decay first follows ~t-1/2 law changing to ~t-3/2 law. Analytical expression for the spectrum is obtained. Analytical theory of the Borrmann effect is developed.
As-grown ZnO:In crystalline plates demonstrate strong near-band-edge emission related to exciton recombination (380 nm - free excitons; 395 and 406 nm - excitons localized in the impurity centers). Fabry-Perot mode structure is observed for last two bands. Dramatically increasing narrow line (396 nm, Δλ ~ 3.3 nm) is connected with EHP recombination.
We report the spatial anisotropy of the acoustooptical figure of merit M2 in LiNbO3:MgO and GaP crystals. The analysis is based on the indicative surfaces being calculated for different geometries of the acoustooptical diffraction. Basing on these results the most efficient geometries of the acoustooptical cells made of these crystals are determined. It give a possibility to increase the application...
