SrFe12O19 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were synthesized through a very simple sol–gel auto-combustion technique. Then, it was characterized by different techniques. Likewise, the semi-spherical SrFe12O19 MNPs was observed in SEM image with the average particles’ size of 70 nm. Also, BET surface of particles was calculated as 10.4 ± 0.5 m2/g. Through VSM, magnetic saturation of SrFe12O19 MNPs was about 79 emu/g and it was a typical feature of ferromagnetic compound. Subsequently, catalytic activity of SrFe12O19 MNPs was tested in a domino three-component reaction between isatoic anhydride, isatin and aniline derivatives to gain spirooxindol–quinazolinone derivatives. Through the results obtained by this reaction, it was found that SrFe12O19 MNPs is a potential catalyst for the synthesis of spirooxindol–quinazolinone derivatives.
