Since 2011, it has been possible to prescribe rehabilitation sports to cancer patients in Germany as part of their aftercare. The aim of this article is to evaluate the practical usability of this additional service in the state of Berlin from the patients’ point of view. The article compares the available services with the needs of the patients, and concludes that the service neither covers the existing needs nor satisfies modern sports science approaches. In a summary, first ideas for improvement of the situation are given. The article is addressed to doctors and professionals in the field of rehabilitation as well as to decision-makers in the field of sports for the disabled and for rehabilitation.
