As wind industry get larger and larger, maintenance of safety and reliability of the turbine equipment becomes more and more important. Main load frame is one of the most critical components of the turbine and should have a very reliable fatigue safety due to the component is used as a main load transmitter and main mount for all nacelle equipment. This work presents a fatigue life design process...
Basing on the fatigue breaking of the differential case of the drive axle with the material of nodular graphite cast iron, the fatigue analysis is made. According to the criterion of `Q/T 543-1999 Drive Axle Bench Test Standard', with the fatigue software FEMFAT 4.7D, the research on the cumulative damage and endurance limit safety factors in differential case is studied in terms of the Miner modified...
In this paper, finite element analysis has been applied on the Phi2.8 mtimes5.75+2.25 m of southern Africa that has been contracted by CBMI Construction Co Ltd. Different contact finite element model as manholes in different position of the twelve clock points are built by using ANSYS parametric design language (APDL). Stress and deformation under the actual condition were presented by calculating,...
Fixed-pier berths for tankers and gas carriers are now sometimes installed and operated in locations exposed to waves and swell. In these conditions, the moored vessel can experience large motions which overload and fatigue mooring lines. Tails are short lengths of synthetic fiber rope which are placed in series with the vessel's winch-mounted wires to decrease mooring line stiffness and thus to reduce...
We present the use of swept wavelength interferometry for distributed fiber-optic temperature measurements in a nuclear reactor. The sensors consisted of 2-m segments of commercially available, single mode optical fibers. The interrogation technique is based on measuring the spectral shift of the intrinsic Rayleigh backscatter signal along the optical fiber and converting the spectral shift to temperature.
