ZnS:Mn nanoparticles of different size have been synthesized using a co-precipitation method. So-prepared ZnS:Mn nanoparticles with capping agent (oleic acid) then were characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD) and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The particle size of the nanoparticles calculated from the XRD patterns has been found in the range 1.45-2.65nm. Absorption spectra have been obtained using UV-Vis...
CdTe/Cd1-xMnxS core-shell structure nanoparticles were successfully synthesized in aqueous solution assisted by microwave irradiation. The photoluminescence spectra showed that incorporating low level Mn2+ in outer inorganic shell will not quench the photoemission of quantum dots. The doped nanocrystals exhibited high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), reaching 52% in water under optimum condition.
The flame-made (5/5) pure ZnO and WO3-doped ZnO nanoparticles containing 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 mol% of WO3 were successfully synthesized by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP). These materials were studied for NO2, CO and H2 gas sensing at different gas concentrations and operating temperatures ranging from 300-400??C in dry air. The crystalline phase, morphology and size of the nanoparticles were characterized...
Magnetoresistance of cobalt-doped zinc oxide and cuprous oxide ferromagnetic nanoparticles with different cobalt concentrations are studied. Zeeman splitting effect is found to play a key role in the electrical transport of our cobalt-doped oxide ferromagnetic nanoparticles. We emphasize that the existence of large Zeeman splitting effect can be used in spintronics devices, because a very large and...
Dominant acceptor based excitons were observed in the photoluminescence spectra of nitrogen doped ZnO nanoparticles prepared by a low cost DC arc discharge method using carbon as electrode. Emissions corresponding to donor bound excitons and donor-acceptor pair recombination was also observed. High crystalline character of the particles was confirmed from the XRD pattern. Basic E2 vibration corresponding...
We report the development of a modified polyelectrolyte deposition technique for building multilayer thin films. The quantum dots of zinc sulphide nanoparticles doped with manganese were synthesized by co-precipitation techniques and the nanoparticles were found to consist of crystallites that were estimated to be around 2.2 nm. The modified polyelectrolyte deposition technique has been used for the...
