With the availability of commodity depth sensors and depth sensing capabilities on mobile devices, there is a need to develop memory efficient and computationally cheap applications. 3D feature descriptor based keypoint matching is the very first step in various computer vision and robotic applications, and is also one of the most memory and computationally demanding steps. In this work, we apply...
The mechanism and morphological evolution of a thermal interface material prepared by pressureless sintering of a paste containing bimodal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were investigated. A high thermal conductivity (232 Wm−1K−1) was obtained from the material sintered at 250 °C for 30 min. These results could be ascribed to decrease of the defect densities and sintered densities of the sintered structures.
Ultrasound-assisted soldering of Cu/Cu was conducted with a self-developed Ni-Sn composite solder. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu/Ni-Sn/Cu joints were investigated in terms of ultrasonic vibration time. Results indicated that, in the joint ultrasonically soldered for 5 s, (Ni,Cu)3Sn4 was formed along the Ni metal foam and got contact with each other in local area while (Cu,Ni)6...
The high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable has a wide application prospect in the future power grid because of its low loss, large capacity and friendly environment. Since without AC loss, the HTS DC cable has a longer cooling distance, and is more suitable for large capacity and long distance transmission. In the near future, with large-scale application of renewable energy, HTS DC cable is...
In order to reduce the cost of dynamic voltage restorer (DVR), this paper proposes a capacity optimization modeling of hybrid Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) and Battery Energy Storage (BES) system in DVR based on the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) theory. The mathematical model is established by considering the LCC as the objective function, the state of charge (SOC) and the output power as...
A dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) integrated with superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) and battery energy storage (BES) systems is proposed and its performance is evaluated in this study. Detailed model is built and verified in PSCAD/EMTDC. The dynamic performance evaluations of the SMES-BES-based DVR applied in power quality improvements are presented. Simulation results show that the SMES-BES-based...
This paper studies the workload offloading problem for fog computing networks in which a set of fog nodes can offload part or all the workload originally targeted to the cloud data centers to further improve the quality-of-experience (QoE) of users. We investigate two performance metrics for fog computing networks: users' QoE and fog nodes' power efficiency. We observe a fundamental tradeoff between...
This paper proposed the Location Searching Method of Smart Power Terminal base on Mobile Positioning Technology. For those occasions in the scope of work that is improper to deploy AP but require only precise position, its applicability could be figured out from position accuracy, scalability and expenditure as well as providing parameters for the engineering practice. From the results of calculations,...
A DRAM with multiple-refresh-period (MRP) method is one of effective refresh power reduction techniques. To support the MRP method, effective test methods for classifying the refresh period of each DRAM block are needed. In this paper, we propose an effective test method for classifying the refresh periods of DRAM blocks. Also, a programmable built-in self-test (BIST) scheme being able to support...
Radio frequency (RF) energy transfer is a promising technology to supply power to the next generation wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we develop an opportunistic sensing framework for joint energy harvesting and channel access: a channel with a high probability of being occupied for harvesting energy is selected, and at the same time, a channel with a high probability of being vacant for...
With the shrinking of technology node, the data retention time of DRAM (DRAM) cells is widespread. Thus, the number of the cells with data retention faults is increased. In this paper, therefore, we propose a built-in self-repair (BISR) scheme for DRAMs using redundancies with physical and logical reconfiguration mechanisms. Spare rows and columns with physical reconfiguration mechanism are used to...
Memristor is a resistive device which is considered as an alternative non-volatile device for future non-volatile memories. For a memristor memory, a reference current is needed for discriminating the high-resistance (ROFF) state from low-resistance (RON) state. The reference current has an impact on the yield and reliability of the memristor memory. In this paper, we propose a test method in associate...
Harmonic contribution assessment is the precondition of harmonic responsibility-sharing and mitigating and its difficulty lies in real-time assessment of harmonic impedance. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposed a complex blind source separation (CBSS) based harmonic contribution assessment method. Use linear filter to abstract fast changing components from measuring data at the point...
The detection of harmonic source is important for harmonic responsibility sharing and mitigation. In this paper, a new indice for harmonic source detection is investigated. This indice is a power component decomposed from apparent power recommended by IEEE Std. 1459-2010, named harmonic distortion power. The theoretical effectiveness of this indice for the detection of harmonic source is analyzed...
Point-on-wave (POW) is an important single-event characteristic of voltage dips. Both POW of initiation and of recovery may affect the equipment. POW is important information to accurate evaluate the equipment performance and behavior during a voltage dip. The “predefined thresholds approach (PTA)” and the “waveform envelope approach (WEA)” are two approaches to calculate POW. This paper analyzes...
High-tech manufacturing customers (HTMCs) are sensitive to the event-based disturbances, such as voltage sags and short-time interruptions, which make them eager to obtain premium power. But the selection of optimal investment scheme is still a difficult problem. Analyzing the HTMCs' demands for premium power, the two-sided matching relationship between the HTMCs' demands for premium power and the...
Relying on the single-end scintillation light detection for PET detectors based on continuous crystal, the annihilation photon interaction position inside of crystal can be determined by our 3D maximum likelihood position estimation algorithm, which provides a possibility to investigate the correlation between the time walk and interaction position to optimize the detector timing performance. Measurements...
The split-and-project method is introduced to modeling the 3D objects with rough surfaces. With this method, the blunt-nosed cone (BNC) and delta-wing aircraft (DWA) are taken as examples to build the rough objects. The bi-static RCS of the rough objects are then simulated through Physical Optics (PO) method under different correlation length and root-mean-square (rms) height. Results indicate that...
RCS of a waving target with uniform rough distribution is calculated by Physical Optics (PO) Method in Ka and Terahertz Bands respectively. So is another assembly consisting of a cylinder and a little cubic. The results show that the RCS of the two targets are different both in amplitude and symmetry. For a certain target, the results demonstrate that EM wave in terahertz band has a higher resolution...
According to the requirements of IEC61850-9-2LE, digital energy metering devices mainly adopt 80×fr fixed sampling rate. When the harmonic analysis is carried out under asynchronous sampling, it will produce large errors due to spectral leakage. Quasi-Synchronous Algorithm has high accuracy, but the calculation process is complicated and the hardware overheads are high. Based on the characteristics...
