We describe a novel 3-D ultrasound technology, the quantitative transmission ultrasound system and algorithm to image a pendent breast in a water bath. Quantitative accuracy is verified using phantoms. Morphological accuracy is verified using cadaveric breast and in vivo images, and spatial resolution is estimated. This paper generalizes an earlier 2-D algorithm to a full 3-D inversion algorithm and...
Controller design for transverse flux machines is a substantial challenge due to their nonlinear dynamic behavior. This paper places particular emphasis on the phase current control loop since it directly affects the generated torque. A state space representation of phase current harmonics in transverse flux machines is introduced to expand applicable control structures. A speed dependent feedforward...
This paper presents a lumped parameter model describing the electromagnetic behavior of Transverse Flux Reluctance Machines. Current dynamics and torque generation are obtained utilizing varying magnetic conductivities of the air gap along the rotor perimeter. The model parameters are identified experimentally using a high accuracy current control for sinusoidal reference currents. A low torque ripple...
A lumped parameter model describing the electromagnetic behavior of Transverse Flux Machines is proposed. Varying magnetic conductivities along the rotor perimeter representing the effective air gap are used to determine the harmonic effects on current dynamics and torque generation. To reduce torque ripples, a control scheme is presented.
This contribution investigates the influence of magnetic saturation on the sensorless control of IPM synchronous motors. An extended analytical motor model is introduced that covers magnetic anisotropies and describes the fundamental wave as well as the harmonic characteristics. Simulation results are compared to actual measurements on a servo drive.
