This paper briefly characterizes a design of a control system of a rotary pneumatic motor. The paper describes linearization of control by two different ways. The first method is linearization using inverse approximation of a static characteristic. The second method employs creating a linearization element using neural networks. Both methods are compared in the conclusion.
The work includes the proposal of a mechatronic system of the variable intake valve lift control for an internal combustion engine. Part of the work handles with the current state of valves control for internal combustion engines with variable valve lift. It is derived mathematical and physical analysis of the air intake manifold system and its dynamics, focusing on the dynamics of cylinder charge...
The article presents a partial use of TRIZ methodology and Goldfire Innovator® for improving the active hinge of the car bonnet. The hinge is one of many components of complex measures of EU for an increase the active pedestrian protection. The measures result from the EuroNCAP regulation which has to be observed within testing the safety of vehicles in a collision with pedestrians, especially in...
A part of the CAAEEC project is focused to create a modern test stand working on the principle of an electric brake and intended for testing of electric drive systems up to ca. 1 kW. The main difference and advantage of this test device compared to traditional dynamometers is its electronic controllability with a low latency - the requested instantaneous brake torque can be dynamically set based on...
In order to determine position, GPS receiver needs to know navigation message which is obtained by demodulating received signal. Demodulating process requires the local harmonic signal and received signal must have pretty good phase alignment. So the phase locked loop is employed to track phase of received signal. This paper implements the phase locked loop to track the GPS signal. Basic principle...
This article describes learning process at ITMO University with application of innovative mechatronic systems in automation and robotics learning. Proposed learning method allows developing students' interest in gaining practical skills during working with real robots. As a result, the students' need for theoretical knowledge increases. The learning process represents “learning in project implementation”...
Equally distributed covering of working space is essential in some mobile robot applications, such as presentation robotics or security robot patrol. This paper explores a method for such covering based on rapidly exploring random trees (RRT) algorithm. RRTs can cover the working space close to completeness while uncovered areas are quickly reduced. The algorithm can be modified to emphasize certain...
Optical methods for measuring displacement is a key enabling technology allowing evaluate vibration of the light weighted objects. In optical evaluation of vibration of object displacement with high speed camera, systematical errors occurs in determining the displacement because of the tracking mark properties. The present article compares the results of optical tracking of four most common tracking...
The paper deals with construction (wiring and components) of a machinery with brushless excited synchronous machine. This machinery will be used for education of students of both bachelor and master's degree studies at University of West Bohemia to get familiar with brushless excitation of synchronous generators and properties of generators equipped with brushless excitation system.
The paper deals with a drive system of experimental fully electric airplane VUT 051 RAY with rated power 55 kW. The requirements on accumulator capacity and its weight were defined according to a precisely specified flight profile. The whole design process of traction inverter is presented. Drive train system of electric airplane was completely tested, before its final installation into fuselage of...
DC has several advantages over ac. In relation with the changes needed in todays ac power system to deal with dominating amounts of fluctuating renewable energy, it seems wise to consider dc as an alternative. One of the problems with introducing dc grids is the lack of availability of dc devices. DC ready devices that work on both - ac and dc - would simplify a smooth introduction of dc there, where...
The paper deals with internal communication system in experimental fully electric airplane VUT 051 RAY which is controlling the whole drivetrain system. The complex drivetrain system consist of battery blocks, main computer, control system of the traction inverter, control and monitoring panel, several simple control and monitoring devices placed on pilot board and finally control system of fast charger...
This paper presents developed compact algorithms of space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) for six-switch and four-switch three-phase inverter. Calculations of the desired voltage vector in the PMSM drive are presented, an optimal voltage vector sequence and scaling factors for SVM has been derived to synthesize the reference voltage vector in each sampling period for healthy and fault drive...
This paper deals with the analysis of shaft loaded by magnetic force. The shaft deflection and critical speed are obtained by two methods: Transfer Matrix Method and Finite Element Method. The Finite Element Method is well known, however, the Transfer matrix method not. Therefore, the first section of this paper is focused on the brief introduction to this method. The results obtained by both methods...
This article presents a possible way of calculation of air gap magnetic flux density in induction machines with eccentrically placed rotor. In the text a method of analytical calculation is presented and results are compared with finite element analysis outputs.
This paper deals with the analysis and design aspects of the high-speed induction machines. Unlike classical induction motor high-speed motor create many challenges in design. The challenges are discussed in the introduction. High-speed machines with solid rotors were design in ansoft Maxwell software. The study induction machine have nominal power 1500 W and synchronous rotating speed 40000 rpm....
The paper presents a comparison of methods of the back EMFs estimation for the permanent magnets synchronous motor in a case of position estimation at the low speed range. These methods are based on the following structures for back EMF estimation: observer for model of the electrical part of the motor, the observer for the modified correction function and estimation based on the simplified model...
