Air traffic control radar, military air traffic surveillance radars, meteorological radars and mobile wireless communication operate in the S-band frequency range. Test and measurement of spectrum sharing methods and their co-existence is absolutely essential, as performance degradation of mobile devices, networks ans S-Band radars has been proven. This paper addresses potential issues, discusses...
Human health is important for people in any age. Healthcare addresses a market of more than 10% of the European gross domestic product. An ageing population will have an enormous impact on society and the economy. The objective of this article is to provide a view of some latest research innovations in field of bioelectronics. Among these a short description of non-invasive hydration sensor, glucose...
Analog-to-Information Converters (AICs) represent the implementation of the Compressed Sensing theory in practice. An AIC is a device that takes as input an analog signal and, unlike traditional ADCs, gives as output a digitized and compressed version of the input. In the literature, some AIC architectures have been proposed. Although the topic is relatively new several efforts have been made in the...
This paper deals with a new adaption technique for general simulator of using vectorization. This approach is more time effective in comparing with the standard method. In the article, the simulation process of the RDA is analyzed and describes which is widely used for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging techniques. The simulation algorithm uses vectorization which satisfies algorithm performance...
A generalized methodology to optimize the design of single stage amplifier is described. It is observed that a wide variety of constraints applied to the objective function graphically forms a polytope type feasible region. Simplex method and interior point based method are then used to find an optimal value by traversing through each of the corner point and interior, respectively, of the polytope...
Work presents basic information about electromagnetic absorbers, its parameters and known methods of its determination - calculations and direct measurement methods. A new simplified and cost-effective method of quality determination is presented, which introduce new quality measure - “Homogeneity Disorder Factor” (HDF). It bounds information about reflectivity with distance from measured absorber...
Paper describes the character of electromagnetic field (EMF) distribution in high frequency welder surrounding based on measurements performed for various welding scenarios, depending on material type, layer count and welding parameters. Measurement results were presented, visualized and discussed. Welding process and its parameters were described and also brief description of high frequency welder...
In the paper, the Bode plots are extended to linear discrete-time systems described by z-domain transfer functions. It follows from the analysis of systems with real zeros and poles that the connections between the forms of asymptotic straight-line frequency characteristics and the parameters of z-domain zeros or poles are more complex than for continuous-time systems.
In this paper a tool for coupled circuit/EM/device simulation is presented with emphasis on radio frequency (RF) applications. The simulator comprises AC, DC, transient analyses, the latter employing multi-step integration formulas based on algebraic and trigonometric polynomials, and dedicated techniques for RF circuits such as Harmonic Balance, shooting and multi-rate spline-wavelet techniques.
The second order Sallen-Key low-pass filter structures (so called biquads) in the voltage and current mode have one common disadvantage, it is a decreasing of the attenuation in the stopband. This fact is caused by losses of the amplification factor of active elements at high frequencies. Some solutions of this problem had been already published for circuits working in the voltage mode, but this problem...
As silicon process geometry is reduced in scale with growing Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry, the underlying circuitry on a chip has become more complex. The cost of designing such complex systems drives towards the path of employing automation in the field of analog circuit design. In this paper, a heuristic based on river formation dynamics (RFD) is presented to design analog circuits...
The paper deals with behavior of Czech traction power supply system of AC 25 kV. The main goal of this paper is analysis of transient effects during operation of traction vehicles in various modes which can arise during short-circuits in traction system. The protection settings have to be done for all possible states in traction system including identification of short-circuits in the case of recuperation...
The gap between capabilities of CMOS technology scaling and requirements of future application workloads is increasing rapidly. There are several promising design approaches that jointly can reduce this gap significantly. Approximate computing is one of them and in recent years, has attracted the strongest attention of the scientific community. Approximate computing exploits inherent error-resilience...
The article presents design of operational amplifier circuit in Austria Micro Systems, 350 nm SiGe BiCMOS technology, suitable for Chua's diodes construction. By connecting an external passive components it became the basis of Chua's circuit that can be used for example in communications and cryptography. The whole design is implemented in nanometer IC design kit from Mentor Graphics. The development...
This contribution is oriented to extend the possibilities of circuits simulation illustration that can be used in music or sensor technology. A typical example is Chua's circuit, which at bifurcation of only one parameter can generate a number of attractors. These can be showed not only in image format, but also as sound using Matlab application. It allows you to do a more complex vision of the bifurcation...
