An optimization of initial gap of a movable electrode in elementary cell of planar electrostatic comb drive utilized transverse displacement is considered and analyzed. An analytical equation providing the maximal value of relation between sensitivity and area of the elementary cell is obtained in one-dimensional case.
The capacitive RF discharge in cylindrical geometry with the end-face outer flat electrodes (the RF field is directed along the cylinder axis) has been analyzed by a 2D modeling. It is shown that the reduction of cylinder length leads to a significant growth of both specific power and efficacy of excimer UV radiation, whereas the radius variations influence the said parameters only weakly.

The DC photoconductivity of powdered silicon samples was studied. Effective sensitization of photoconductivity for semiconductors with organic dyes applied to the surface of microcrystalls was found.
