A wide range current controlled CMOS transconductor is presented. The proposed circuit relies on a current controlled current amplifier that uses an unbalanced current mirror. A fifth-order Butterworth low pass filter based on the novel transconductor is also presented as application.
This paper presents a CMOS circuit able to magnify the value of a reference bias current. The magnification factor can be programmed via a 10bit interface in the 1–1024 range. A time domain technique is used to compare a replica of the output current and a replica of the reference current. A negative feedback circuit minimizes the errors up to 1%.
Using a new input restructuring sequence and an appropriate reordering of the elements involved, a new VLSI algorithm that uses short length pseudo-cycle convolution structures for the VLSI implementation of discrete sine transform is presented. It uses a new parallel decomposition of discrete sine transform (DST) that leads to a high throughput VLSI implementation with a low hardware cost. The proposed...
A new solution for capacitance multiplier based on current injection from a reference capacitor in a circuit loop which contains gate to source voltages is proposed. The loop can be unbalanced thanks to a dc voltage, thereby causing that drain current in one of the transistors to have a multiplied value of the current from reference capacitor. Multiplied current is translated to the circuit input,...
A novel implementation of the OBT method for a second-order Gm-C bandpass filter with real poles is presented. We propose a novel circuit structure based on a custom Schmitt trigger comparator and by adopting a second-order bandpass filter as a case study we evaluate the test quality using comprehensive fault simulations.
This paper describes two variable gain amplifier building blocks which use MOSFETs operating in triode or saturation regions as basic transconductances. Employing two matched transistors that have all the terminals, except for the drain, connected together, one has the possibility of controlling the drain current using the drain voltage as a control. All the circuits were simulated using the austriamicrosystems...
The paper proposes a novel implementation of a LC oscillator using an active inductor. The advantages of the method are discussed. The simulations prove the performance of the oscillator with an active inductor. The two phase oscillator based on two simulated CMOS inductors structure consists of a balanced differential CMOS circuit with negative intrinsic resistance and was simulated in a 0.18 μm...
